I am working on a site that has three menus. Two of the three are huge with dozens of entries nested inside dozens of other entries. Over 200 items in one menu. I am trying to convert the site into a responsive template and thus need to combine these menus into one since we are no longer going to have sidebar menus on the site. My intent is to have a new menu with Home, Menu1, and Menu2 as the top level items.
The problem is that when I attempt to do a batch move (not a copy) of all of the items in Menu1 to the new main menu it does something so screwy that I wind up having to restore from backup. After hitting Process in the batch popup it gives me a yellow error message that:
Batch process failed with following error: The alias bombay-mint is already being used by Bombay Mint menu item in the India Coins menu (remember it may be a trashed item).
I know there is nothing in the trash because I went in and emptied all of it prior to running the batch (I've done this three times now and same result). If I try to move smaller amounts of the menu I get similar error messages.
None of the processed menu items wind up in the new menu. Instead they seem to be dumped back at the bottom of the old menu and ripped out of their nested positions. Basically it winds up leaving a total mess that the only way to recover is to restore from backup.
Any idea what I need to do to make this work? Is there a way to just include the menu under another menu?
